Q. What is an Adventure “Boot Camp”?
A. First off, boot camp IS FUN! You will have a blast! You will be with John not some other hired trainer. John has decided to do all of his camps himself. Or as John puts it “I have decided to be Small but Great! I could expand, but I have chosen not to. I put all of my energy, effort and focus into my 5:30 AM and 9:00 AM boot campers. I want to give my campers the very best results and experience! To achieve this at the highest level, it takes focus!”
Second, Boot Camp means you’re outside. No stuffy, smelly gym. You’re breathing in fresh air. And you’re not working out alone. You’re with at least 25-50 other women of all shapes and sizes who are working to get in shape, lose weight and stay healthy.
John will be your biggest cheerleader! The other ladies are also very supportive. Many deep and lasting friendship have been made in this boot camp.
Plus, you’re not doing the same old boring repetitive exercises over and over. You’re led and encouraged by John who knows just what to say and do to get you inspired, motivated and ready to kick butt and take on the world!
Every activity is a quick 5 to 7 minutes and then it’s on to the next activity. So you will never be bored, your body will be working hard to kick you metabolism into high gear to drop that unwanted weight. Not only that but, your hour with John will be the best hour of your day – guaranteed! Or your money back.
* Please note that our 9 AM camp moves indoors for the summer (June, July and August) due to the Florida heat.
Q. What if I’ve rarely or never exercised before?
A. Don’t worry! Adventure Boot Camp is designed for real women – women who have busy lives. Women who struggle to find time to exercise. Women who hate to exercise and women who love to exercise. You won’t be left behind. That’s because John will meet you exactly where you’re at, take you by the hand and guide you to the next level. You’ll start out slow and build on every day’s successes. At the end of four weeks, you’ll increase endurance and stamina by at least 25% as well as lose inches and tone up. You’ll be amazed at how quickly your body responds and how you’re moving better than you have in years.
Q. What kind of women go to Adventure Boot Camp?
A. All kinds of women. That’s what makes it special. You’ll find stay-at-home moms, working moms, VPs and retirees. Women of all ages, shapes and sizes. Women who have a lot to lose and women who want to maintain. Women who need encouragement and motivation to meet their goals. Women looking for a warm, caring supportive atmosphere to get in shape or stay in shape. You’ll make many new friends at Adventure Boot Camp. Women say they sign up to lose weight and tone up but keep coming back for the fun and the friendships.
Q. When and where does Adventure Boot Camp Meet?
A. There’s an Adventure Boot Camp to meet your schedule. We meet at 5:30 a.m. or 9 a.m. for one FULL hour. Please be on time because we start exactly on time and we end exactly on time to accommodate everyone’s busy schedule. It will be the fastest hour of your day. Q. How quickly can I expect to see results?
A. Changes start to happen in the body right away. But it take a little time before you see those change reflecting back at you in the mirror.
But that being said, you will notice your body will become more fit and toned after the very first week! John’s program includes exercises designed to firm your butt and thighs, flatten your stomach, reduce body fat and increase stamina. By losing fat and gaining muscle, you’ll lose inches and gain strength while looking and feeling better. With in a very short period of time (a week or two) women in camp start enjoying more self-confidence, less stress, better sleep and greater happiness while experiencing a dramatic improvement in your physical and mental well-being.
Within 4 short weeks, you can expect:
- 5-12 Pounds of Weight Loss
- Greatly Improved Posture
- Better Relaxation
- 3-5% Reduction in Body Fat
- 1-3 Inch Decrease in the Midsection
- 25% Improvement in Endurance
- 25% Increase in Strength
- 100% Gain in Self-Confidence
- An Abundance of Energy!
Q. What is a typical hour of Adventure Boot Camp like?
A. That’s a difficult question to answer because … there is NO TYPICAL HOUR. Camp is different EVERYDAY! What’s more we tailor each activity to fit your fitness level. Boot Camp is jam-packed with fun games, resistance training, interval training, tabatas, balance training, core work and cardio—power walking, light jogging, sprinting or running, depending on your fitness level and what you are comfortable with.
But John’s Adventure Boot Camp also offers many metabolic exercises using 5 to 15 pound dumbbells, bodyweight, bands, medicine balls, jump ropes and more. John uses obstacle courses, circuits and relays to keep you moving and engaged. And he is constantly changing everything up to use different muscle groups, equipment and intensity levels. Instead of boring, repetitive exercises like most people do, you will be always doing something new, exciting and different. You will be shocking your system, so you can get to your fat loss and conditioning goals much faster.
You’ll start with a light warm-up for the first 5 minutes, which leads to a dynamic warm up to prepare the body for exercise … this is important for all of us, but especially important as we age. Then we move into the main activities, such as the game The Amazing Race, Blanket Junkyard, the Cone Game, metabolic training, core work and intervals … just to name a few. We often end with a “metabolic finisher” designed to dramatically increase heart rate and work your entire body in a short but intense way. This increases your caloric burn for the the next 24 to 36 hours! Talk about boosting metabolism!
Whatever you do at camp, every activity is modified – or expanded – to meet your fitness level. Safety is always stressed, but John will ask you to do a little bit more than what you’re acclimated to. As John always says “I am looking for progression, not perfection!”

Q. What should I bring to camp?
A. You will need to bring one set of 5 lb. dumbbells and a 1/2 inch to 1 inch thick exercise mat. Yoga mats are usually too thin for comfort. (As you progress in your fitness level you will also want to add a set of 15 lb. dumbbells for greater resistance. This will help to speed up your metabolism.)
You will also want to bring water to keep yourself hydrated during camp. Optional items are a towel to dry off with. In the winter, dress in a layers…even if it is chilly, you will get warm very fast! For warmer months, light colored clothing and breathable fabrics are best.
Q. What type of nutritional support is provided?
Johnism here, “You can’t out train a bad diet!”
A. Nutrition is key. It all stats with The “Simple Steps” Nutrition Seminar. Not only is this seminar fun but this is where you will discover John’s exclusive and proven “Simple Steps Eating Plan”. You will learn…
- Why 98% Of All Self Directed Weight Loss Attempts Fail
- The Simple Secret Strategy You Need To Succeed At Installing Any New Habit
- The “5 Habits” To Improve Your Body Composition, Health And Performance
- And Get Your Individualized Success Plan
To jump start your new healthy habits, John will take you on his “Simple Steps Supermarket Tour” at the Publix at Brooker Creek. The supermarket is filled with “landmines”. Companies deceive at such a high level that it is almost comical AFTER it is shown to you. The sad thing is, the government is in on it. This Simple Steps Supermarket Tour is an eye opener! There are so many things that look “Healthy” but they are far from it. Get the inside scoop on how to make healthy choices to help you improve your body composition, health and performance!
Q. What happens if it rains?
A. This is boot camp, not spa camp! We still have boot camp at our normal locations and times if it is just sprinkling or lightly raining. If it is a heavy rain that is deemed to be unsafe (John will use his best judgment) or lightning, camp will be cancelled. On the rare chance we are forced to cancel for weather safety reasons, there will be NO rescheduling of a makeup camp, but feel free to make the camp up at another camp time.
Q. What happens if I miss a day? Is there a makeup policy?
A. We do NOT offer make-up days. For fast, maximum results, you will want to attend every day you’re signed up for. John recommends you attend 5-days per week for the best results.
Q. What will I do after camp is over?
A. If you enjoyed your experience at your very first boot camp, then you can sign up for next camp to keep you on the path to your healthy weight and lifestyle. You can also choose to join John’s Inner Circle program, where you can save up to $100 per camp. If you’re interested in learning more about John’s Inner Circle program please call 727-420-8139.
Q. What if I try Adventure Boot Camp and it’s not for me?
A. Don’t worry. Your satisfaction is 100% guaranteed. In the unlikely event you decide – for ANY reason – that Boot Camp is not right for you, just let us know. You’ll receive 100% of your money back – no questions asked. In fact, you can let us know on the last day of camp and you’ll still get all of your money back. Our promise is a simple and sincere one – You’re going to LOVE IT or your MONEY BACK!
Q. How much does one session of Adventure Boot Camp cost?
A. You’re wanting to lose weight and get in shape. Now it’s time to consider some of your options: personal training, a gym membership, Adventure Boot Camp or you can try to do it alone. One-on-one personal training can cost you thousands of dollars per year – at a rate of anywhere from $50 to $75 per session or more.
A gym membership is less expensive, but 65% of the people who join a gym won’t show up past the first 3 weeks. It’s actually part of the gym’s business plan. Can you imagine if 2,500 of their member showed up at their gym every day? Plus, the gym environment can be extremely intimidating for women and they offer no instruction or motivation. You can try to do it alone which is free, but if that was working for you, you probably wouldn’t be here right now.
The truth is North Pinellas Adventure Boot Camp is the best option for most women. You’ll get great program design and the motivation of a personal trainer at a fraction of the cost. Instead you’ll pay just $299 per camp (for your 4 week, 5 days-a-week session). That’s just $14.95 a session – a small price to pay for such a priceless investment in yourself. This means you can come to a full week of Boot Camp for the price of one session with a personal trainer! You’ll have fun, meet new friends, lose weight and get in the best shape of your life. All for just $14.95 a session.
You’ll never find this kind of program design and attention at a gym or this kind of price with a personal trainer. Adventure Boot Camp will most likely be the best hour of your day! A 3-day option is also available for just $229 per camp (for your 4-week, 3-days-a-week session). However, we do recommend the 5-day option if weight loss is your goal.
You can also choose to join our Inner Circle program, where you can save up to $100 per camp. If you’re interested in learning more about our Inner Circle program please call us at 727-420-8139.
